A cruise on Viking Sky includes at least one excursion per passenger in each port. Most of the included excursions involve some type of coach tour into the heart of the port you're visiting, so if you're looking for the highlights, these tours are a solid option. Included tours generally are led by English-speaking guides -- often local to the city or region -- and require light walking. They combine historic, architectural or artistic highlights with stops for photos and some time on your own. A tour in Tunis might start with a trip to the Carthage ruins; visit a village, where passengers have time for some mint tea at a cafe or souvenir shopping; and finish at the North Africa American Cemetery and Memorial.
Dining
People who love great food will love Viking Sky. The ship offers seven unique restaurants as well as a substantial room service menu, and dishes across the board are excellent. Best of all, dining at six of the restaurants is included in your cruise fare. (The exception is The Kitchen Table, which really is as much about the excursion as it is about the meal.) The quality of the ship's main dining room, called simply The Restaurant, is high, and service is outstanding, but passengers also are entitled to eat in each of the ship's two alternative venues -- Manfredi's and The Chef's Table -- at least once each cruise. For many passengers, those experiences are a highlight.
Cabins
Viking Sky's staterooms are among the best-designed at sea. Every detail was considered, from cabin size to toiletries to quiet-close closets and drawers.
